ARIES (MARCH 21 – APRIL 19)
Take a step back and review how you’re connecting with your friends, group associations and communities, Aries. The onset of this particular Mercury retrograde will be bringing confusion and yes, plenty of gossip. Disagreements with a friend are also quite possible, too. However, an old friend, ex or contact may even reach out to catch up. Go for it if you’d like, but don’t do it if you’re still salty over something that happened before. Toward the end of the upcoming cycle, you may also notice some hiccups or delays around professional projects. Anything that emerges now is just giving you a chance to review it and alter course.
TAURUS (APRIL 20 – MAY 20)
Hit the brakes on professional projects, Taurus. The main focus of the upcoming Mercury retrograde cycle will affect your career, ambitions and public standing. Don’t launch any new projects during this time, nor start a new job or make bold claims publicly. You may ultimately regret them in the end. However, if an old job or professional project comes back around now, you could decide to return to it confidently. Toward the end of this cycle, you may find some confusion around media, publishing or legal affairs. If not that, then travel or academic challenges may be grating on your nerves.
GEMINI (MAY 21 – JUNE 20)
Mercury retrograde seems to always be attacking you, doesn’t it, Gemini? This is because your planetary ruler is especially important for you, and you’re deeply affected by his every move. This season’s cycle will likely cause confusion around how you’re pursuing new horizons in your life. On one hand, this may result in delays around media, publishing or legal situations, but on the other, you may feel frustrated that travel, academic or business affairs are hitting snags, instead. Later, Mercury will dig up some drama around your assets, investments or partnerships. Don’t fly off the handle. Listen to others now.
CANCER (JUNE 21 – JULY 22)
Get ready for plenty of confusion around partnerships, Cancer. The upcoming Mercury retrograde phase will bring big focus to how you share with others in business or love. Your assets, investments and intimacy may all be up for discussion. While this obviously affects attached Cancers more, Mercury may even dig up exes or old partners for you toward the end of January! This will give you a chance to reevaluate where you stand and if you’d like to give the connection another chance. Just don’t end up underneath someone who has a track record of breaking your heart.
LEO (JULY 23 – AUG. 22)
Oh hell no! Relationship drama is staring you in the face, Leo! Something you had previously agreed to will likely be up for review in a significant partnership in business or love — or even in a negotiation. While this will give you a chance to go over the details again, you may even decide that you’re just not on the same page. Exes could start lurking or even reach out with a casual hello, screenshots or nudes — take your pick. If you’re thirsty for the old times, ask what they’re up to. Later in the cycle, confusion around work, employment, health or pet situations will grind your nerves.
VIRGO (AUG. 23 – SEPT. 22)
Slow down, Virgo! The universe is always telling you to chill during Mercury retrograde because this planet is your ruler. This particular cycle will initially bring delays and confusion around work, client or employment projects. Something you had been focusing on for your job may end up needing endless revisions and make you just want to hit your head against a wall! Drama with a co-worker is also possible, so keep your antennae up. However, if you’d like to reconnect with an old employer or client, this could be a great chance to do so. Later in the cycle, your attention will shift to drama around your love life, creative projects or children. Go for a walk and clear your head.
LIBRA (SEPT. 23 – OCT. 22)
Yikes! Prepare for plenty of love dramz, Libra! As Mercury stirs the pot in your romantic life, you could feel like you and your boo aren’t seeing eye-to-eye. Another way this may rock the boat is that you suddenly feel like you’re hitting a dry spell if you’ve been casually dating or that a sweetheart you have a crush on is too good to be true. Thinking about that ex or old hookup? Yup, that could be happening, too! Yet another way this could manifest is confusion around creative projects, hobbies, sports — or even your children. Later, the drama may even spill over into your domestic life or with your parents, so hide out till the storm passes. Definitely do not make any big home decisions!
SCORPIO (OCT. 23 – NOV. 21)
Watch how you’re communicating your emotions and ideas, Scorpio. The upcoming Mercury retrograde could feel like running into barbed wire — or worse, that you’re trapped in it! While the initial period of the cycle will bring confusion around home, domestic or family concerns, do your best to roll with the punches rather than standing on your high horse. Definitely do not make any decisions about moving, redecorating, renovating or relocating — you’ll regret it 100%. Toward the final third of the retrograde phase, you may suddenly find delays around contracts or communication projects, so don’t stress the small stuff.
SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 22 – DEC. 21)
Be very, very careful what you say, send, type or post, Sagittarius. The Mercury retrograde phase will crack the whip on you if you step out of line and talk out of turn. On one hand, you could notice that a big writing, speaking or contractual project is spinning out of whack, but you could also take this as a blessing in disguise as you approach things from a new perspective. If for some reason you’ve been considering a quick trip out of town, don’t visit a new destination. Head somewhere you’ve gone before, and you’ll find new gems this time around. Just don’t overspend, because later in the retrograde, money will be a problem for concern.
CAPRICORN (DEC. 22 – JAN. 19)
Watch your finances, Capricorn. The approaching Mercury retrograde is wearing devil horns and about to burn through some of your cash! Delays around money, income and wealth could be making your knuckles white. Breathe through it and don’t stress, just make sure that you’re keeping tabs on where you’re putting all of your finances. If you’d like to follow up with people who still owe you money or hop back on an old job, you could be in luck. However, when Mercury starts moonwalking in your zodiac sign later on in the cycle, you’ll feel that your whole life is going up in flames! Confusion and stagnation is guaranteed, so if that’s the case, use the extra time to tidy up your life.
AQUARIUS (JAN. 20 – FEB. 18)
Yes, Aquarius, this Mercury retrograde phase is going to kind of suck for you in particular because it’s literally happening in your zodiac sign. However, everything in life (and astrology) is a blessing in disguise (at least in how I explain it), so when your calendar inevitably opens up with cancellations and delays, use this time to revise your plans for the year to come. Some personal and professional projects will likely slow down, so use this period to truly assess what you want most of all going forward. Later in the cycle, you could feel a bit anxious and something or someone from the past —especially a secret — could appear out of thin air.
PISCES (FEB. 19 – MARCH 20)
Are you going crazy, hearing things or just suddenly having wild dreams? Um, you soon could be! (Kidding.) Prepare for your intuition or, um, your anxiety to be fired up during the upcoming Mercury retrograde phase, Pisces. On one hand, you could be legitimately downloading important messages from the universe, but on the other, your fears could just be acting up. Also, situations, secrets and people from your past could also emerge during this time, so face them or let them go. Later in the cycle, Mercury will cyclone through your network and friendships, likely leaving some drama in his wake. Yes, that means gossip, and yes, that also means exes could be lurking.
